This is what I’m working on right now. To tell you the entire story, during my interview with the jury, they didn’t pay much attention to my booklet. But I still wanted to work with texts and images like that. It took me a long time to figure out how to improve my project. Then I thought that my booklet was too small and maybe they would pay more attention if my work was taking an entire wall (4m/2.25m). So I’m working on 190 squares of 20cm/20cm. It’s taking me a LOT of time:
Here are some pictures of one of my project for my 1st semester. I was working on the topic of memory, which is the same subject as my video « Are you lost ». So I created a booklet with images and words that works as a diary. I took photos with my cell phone of every moment I knew I was going to forget and then created a strip with those photos. It forms the left page. On the right page, I was writting each week or so a little text which was working like my images: it was not meant to illustrate my days or to tell a story, it’s just some moments I try to capture. It doesn’t have to make sense but it has to recreate a feeling I lost. Here is a little extract of the booklet:
